Bottom line up front: Should a Microsoft 365 company swap its Claude seats for Copilot?

Only if the team's work sits in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, and don't let the $18 price be the reason, because it reverts to $21 after December 31, 2026.

At that point Claude Team's $20 is the cheaper seat again, and Copilot also needs an eligible Microsoft 365 Business plan underneath. You lose Claude Code, so plan a separate coding tool if your developers use it. Treat that renewal date as a negotiating date. Put it in the calendar a couple of months ahead, check how many Copilot seats are really being used, and cut or reassign the idle ones before the price steps up, since per-seat AI add-ons get bought for everyone and rarely reviewed. Save the prompts and instructions you rely on first, because nothing carries over.
