Heads up: AI assistants change their plans, prices, models and usage limits almost daily. Everything on this page is accurate as of September 19, 2026, the date we checked each vendor’s pricing page and documentation. Confirm current terms on the vendor’s own site before you buy.

Quick verdict: Export what you can from ChatGPT as an archive, then rebuild the parts your team reuses: each custom GPT becomes a Claude project with the same instructions and knowledge files, shared with the right people. Claude’s experimental memory import (on Free, Pro, Max and Team) can carry over what ChatGPT remembers about each user. Seat prices are identical, $20 per Standard seat on annual billing, so the cost of the move is time, not licences. Note that Claude Team tops out at 150 seats and does not generate images.

    Plan this as a context move. List every custom GPT, shared project and connector your team depends on before you switch anything off.

    How do I move a custom GPT to Claude?

    Create a Claude project, paste the GPT’s instructions into the project instructions, upload its knowledge files and share the project with your team. Actions that call external APIs have to be rebuilt.

    Will Claude Team cost more than ChatGPT Business?

    No. Both are $20 per Standard seat and $100 per Premium seat a month on annual billing, with a two-seat minimum.

    Can Business members export their own ChatGPT chats?

    No. OpenAI says self-service export is not available in Business or Enterprise workspaces; the workspace owner handles it.

    Will my old chats be searchable in the new assistant?

    No official path moves chat history between these assistants for business accounts. Keep your export as an archive, and move the knowledge that matters (instructions, reference files, prompts) into the new tool’s projects or custom assistants.
