Toggl has a built-in Harvest importer that connects to your Harvest account and brings over clients, projects, tasks, rates and a year of time entries.
Heads up: Toggl now sells Toggl Track inside its unified Toggl plans (time tracking plus planning). Prices here are the ones new customers see on toggl.com/pricing, checked September 19, 2026. Existing Toggl Track accounts keep their current plans.
Quick verdict: Use Toggl’s Data Importer on a paid plan: connect Harvest, and it imports clients, projects (with billable status and budgets), active tasks, billable rates and the past 12 months of time entries. Export Harvest invoices and older time as an archive first, and decide where invoicing will live, because Toggl’s current plans do not list it.
Most buyers only budget for the new subscription. This estimates the hidden labor, data-cleanup, and retraining cost of actually making the switch.
Estimate assumes: 1 hour of data-mapping/cleaning labor per 2,000 records, a blended $75/hr ops rate, tiered migration & cleaning tooling fees, and 4 hours of retraining per seat at a $45/hr fully-loaded rate.
Toggl charges $9 or $16 a user a month on annual billing, with no usage charges.
Timelines, milestones, PTO and capacity come with Starter.
Toggl includes single sign-on on Premium.
Keep a full Harvest export: Toggl imports only the last 12 months of time entries, and not invoices or expenses.
| Step | What you do |
|---|---|
| 1Export your Harvest data | Administrators go to Settings, then Import/Export: export all time as CSV and all invoices and estimates as a zip of PDFs. Projects, tasks, people and clients export to Excel or CSV. |
| 2Choose a Toggl plan | The Harvest importer needs a paid plan: Starter ($9 a user, annual) or Premium ($16). |
| 3Run the Harvest importer | As a Toggl admin, connect Harvest in the Data Importer; it brings clients, projects, tasks, billable rates and 12 months of time entries (up to 5 imports per workspace). |
| 4Check budgets and rates | Review imported budgets and rates; Toggl’s budgets are hour-based estimates. |
| 5Move invoicing | Invoices and expenses do not import. Move invoicing to your accounting tool. |
| 6Invite users and install the apps | Invite the team and roll out Toggl’s desktop, mobile and browser apps. |
What this path doesn’t do for you:
Invoices, expenses and time older than 12 months do not import. Harvest’s Stripe payments and QuickBooks, Xero and Gusto connections have no listed equivalent on Toggl’s current plans.
