Switching from Clockify to Toggl Track

Toggl has no Clockify-specific importer, so the move runs through Toggl’s generic CSV importer. Expect to pay more per seat and gain planning tools.

Heads up: Toggl now sells Toggl Track inside its unified Toggl plans (time tracking plus planning). Prices here are the ones new customers see on toggl.com/pricing, checked September 19, 2026. Existing Toggl Track accounts keep their current plans.

Quick verdict: Export Clockify’s Detailed report as CSV, reformat it to Toggl’s CSV import columns, and import it as an admin (tasks import only on paid plans). Recreate rates, approvals and SSO on Premium if you need them, and plan for time-clock and GPS features that Toggl does not offer.

Why teams move from Clockify to Toggl Track

    Planning in the same tool

Toggl’s plans add timelines, milestones, PTO and capacity to time tracking.

    No monitoring

Toggl states it does not take screenshots or track location.

    SSO below Enterprise

Toggl includes single sign-on on Premium.

    How the migration actually works

Check who relies on Clockify’s kiosk, GPS or screenshots first: Toggl lists none of these.

    StepWhat you do
1Export your Clockify dataExport the Detailed report over the longest date range to CSV or Excel (Basic and up; PDF only on Free). Owners can also export a year of time entries at a time from Workspace settings, then Data export.
2Reformat for TogglMap Clockify’s columns to Toggl’s CSV import template (user email, project, client, description, start date and time, duration).
3Set up Toggl and invite usersChoose Starter ($9 a user, annual) or Premium ($16) and invite the team before importing.
4ImportAn admin imports time entries, projects, clients, tasks and tags with Toggl’s CSV importer; tasks need a paid plan.
5Recreate rates and approvalsSet billable rates on Starter; turn on approvals and SSO on Premium.
6Replace kiosk and invoicing workflowsIf you used Clockify’s kiosk or invoicing, decide what replaces them before cancelling.

What this path doesn’t do for you:

There is no Clockify-specific importer; the CSV needs reformatting. Kiosk clock-in, GPS, screenshots and invoicing have no equivalent on Toggl’s current plans.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Can Toggl import from Clockify?

Not directly. Use Toggl’s generic CSV importer after reformatting Clockify’s export to Toggl’s columns.

Will I pay more on Toggl?

Usually. Toggl Starter is $9 a user a month on annual billing, against $3.99 to $7.99 for most Clockify plans.

Does Toggl have a time clock?

No kiosk or GPS clock-in is listed on Toggl’s plans.

Can I keep my old reports?

Yes, as exports. Keep the full CSV export and invoice PDFs from the old tool as your archive; historical rates and approvals do not carry over as live settings.
