Bottom line up front: When does it make sense to move from Box to Dropbox Business?

Mostly when you've outgrown Box Starter's 10-user cap or want 3 TB of pooled storage, and you'll accept paying $10 a seat more and giving up Box Sign.

Nothing imports directly: files are downloaded and re-uploaded, or moved with a third-party cloud-to-cloud tool, and every share link and permission is rebuilt by hand. That second part is where the risk sits. Links you've sent to clients and vendors stop working once Box is gone, so list every externally shared folder first, send those people the new link, and move them in a planned order rather than all at once. If you signed documents in Box Sign, download the completed agreements before you cancel and line up a separate e-signature tool. Run both sync clients for a short overlap, and cancel only after each person confirms their files.

    Dropbox Business Standard does not bundle e-signature or workflow automation the way Box Starter does.
