Bottom line up front: Is Dropbox Business worth it over a personal Dropbox account?

For any team, yes: Standard is $15/user/mo billed annually ($18 monthly) with no seat minimum and 3 TB pooled team-wide from the first user.

Dropbox Plus at $9.99/mo and the 2 GB Dropbox Basic are personal products, and the Advanced tier is a custom quote. The real difference isn't storage, it's who owns the files. When company documents sit in employees' personal accounts, they walk out the door with the person, and you end up asking a former employee for access to your own contracts. A business plan is meant to fix that, but only if you use it: write a short offboarding checklist that moves the leaver's files to a manager and cuts access on their last day. What is the difference between Dropbox Standard and Dropbox Business?

Dropbox Business is the name for Dropbox’s team plans, and Standard is the entry team plan: $15 a user a month billed yearly, from 3 TB of storage for the team and 180 days to restore deleted files. Advanced, the next tier, is $24 a user a month for 3 or more people, from 15 TB, with a year to restore files.

Dropbox Business vs personal: which one do I need?

For one person’s files, Plus is $9.99 a month billed yearly for 2 TB. If files belong to a team, or you want 180-day file recovery and transfers up to 100 GB, Standard is $15 a user a month and can be bought for a single person.

Dropbox Family vs Business: what is the difference?

Family is a personal plan: up to six people share 2 TB under one bill, each with a private account plus a shared Family Room folder. Business plans (Standard and Advanced) are for teams and are priced per user.
