Bottom line up front: Is moving from Google Workspace to Dropbox Business an upgrade?

Only for storage: Dropbox Business Standard costs $8 a seat more and takes you from 30GB per person to 3TB pooled team-wide, but it includes no email, Docs, Sheets, Slides or Meet at any tier.

That last part decides the project. If your mail runs on Workspace, you aren't leaving Google, you're adding Dropbox, so plan email and office apps before you cancel anything. The file move has a trap too: documents created in a browser-based office suite usually leave as converted copies, and comments and version history tend not to travel with them. Sort live collaborative documents from ordinary files, and keep editing the live ones where they are until you've checked a converted copy. Then rebuild external share links and warn clients that the old links will stop working.

    You lose Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Meet unless you keep or separately buy them — Dropbox includes none of them.
