Bottom line up front: What breaks when a company moves its meetings from Google Meet to Microsoft Teams?

Mostly your calendar: neither tool imports meeting history or recordings, and every recurring invite still points at a Meet link that stops working once you cancel.

Teams Essentials saves money, $4 against $7 a user, but it's meetings and chat only, so if Gmail, Docs and Sheets run on Workspace you need Business Basic or a separate email plan before cancelling anything. The invites are the sneaky part. A recurring meeting belongs to whoever created it, so the organizer has to reissue it with a Teams link, and series owned by people who have left often can't be edited and must be recreated. List the recurring meetings, especially those with clients and outside partners, and reissue them the week before cutover. Export any recordings you want to keep while you still have access.
