Switching from Sortly to inFlow Inventory

inFlow has no Sortly importer, but Sortly’s CSV export feeds inFlow’s CSV import. The move adds purchasing, sales orders and store sync.

Quick verdict: Export Sortly’s inventory summary, import products and then stock levels into inFlow, add customers and vendors, and connect your store and accounting. Teams usually make this move when they start selling what they stock.

    How the migration actually works

inFlow needs a connection to work; if your team relies on Sortly’s offline scanning, test coverage where you count stock.

    StepWhat you do
1Clean up the item listArchive discontinued items and agree on SKUs and units before exporting, so you import only what you still stock.
2Export from SortlyIn Reports, open Inventory Summary and export CSV or Excel with all items and fields (images come as URLs; use the Dropbox export for the image files).
3Import into inFlowUse Settings, then Import to bring in products, then stock levels, customers, vendors and open orders, mapping the columns as you go.
4Count and reconcileRun a stock count in the new tool, compare totals with the old one, and fix differences before you switch off the old tool.
5Reconnect sales channelsConnect your online stores and accounting in the new tool, and disconnect them from the old one so stock is not updated twice.
6Train the team and cut overPick a quiet day, freeze changes in the old tool, import final stock levels, and have everyone scan in the new app from then on.

What this path doesn’t do for you:

Sortly folders, photos (exported as URLs) and custom fields need mapping by hand. Budget for a higher monthly price and, from Small Business, the $499 onboarding package.

    Before you cut over

    • You have single sign-on in Sortly but we found none documented for inFlow Inventory. Plan how people will sign in, and how you will remove leavers, before cut-over.
    • People who rely on Sortly offline will lose that: inFlow Inventory needs a connection. Tell field and travelling staff before the switch.
