Switching from Zoho Inventory to Sortly

Sortly has no Zoho importer, so you move items by spreadsheet. Sales channels, sales orders and accounting links do not have an equivalent in Sortly.

Quick verdict: Export items and stock from Zoho as CSV, create Sortly’s custom fields, fill its bulk import template and import. This move suits teams that stopped selling through channels and now mainly track stock; Sortly lists no selling-channel integrations or sales orders.

Why teams move from Zoho Inventory to Sortly

    Simpler app

Photo-first items, folders and QR labels.

    Offline scanning

    Sortly’s mobile apps work offline.

    Free plan

Up to 100 items for one user.

    How the migration actually works

If you still sell on Shopify, Amazon or Etsy, Sortly will not sync those channels; stay on an order-management tool.

    StepWhat you do
1Clean up the item listArchive discontinued items and agree on SKUs and units before exporting, so you import only what you still stock.
2Export from Zoho InventoryIn each module choose More, then Export, and save CSV, XLS or XLSX (items, customers, vendors, orders). An admin can also email a full backup of CSVs from Settings, then Data Backup, once every 15 days.
3Import into SortlyCreate custom fields and units first, then fill Sortly’s bulk import template (CSV or XLSX) and import from Settings, then Bulk Import. The import only adds new items.
4Count and reconcileRun a stock count in the new tool, compare totals with the old one, and fix differences before you switch off the old tool.
5Train the team and cut overPick a quiet day, freeze changes in the old tool, import final stock levels, and have everyone scan in the new app from then on.

What this path doesn’t do for you:

Sales orders, invoices, channel connections, purchase approvals and Zoho Books links have no Sortly equivalent. Sortly’s import only adds items; it cannot update existing ones in bulk below Enterprise.

    Before you cut over

    • Set up single sign-on in Sortly on Enterprise before you invite the team, so accounts are created through your identity provider rather than by hand.
    • Sortly adds offline access (partial): install the desktop or mobile app for staff who work on the move.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can Sortly import from Zoho Inventory?

Not directly. Export CSV from Zoho and import it with Sortly’s bulk import template.

    Will I pay more?

For 2 or 3 users, yes: Sortly Advanced is $49 a month against Zoho Standard at $29 on annual billing.

Will my Shopify store stay in sync?

No. Sortly lists no selling-channel integrations.

    What about my order history?

Open orders can be imported; most teams keep closed orders as an exported archive rather than importing years of history.
