Bottom line up front: Should a team that tracks work in Notion databases move to ClickUp?

Yes, if your Notion databases have quietly turned into a task tracker, because ClickUp's native Notion importer runs on every plan and the seat price drops from $10 to $7 a month, both yearly.

The catch is what arrives: databases land in one Folder, every Notion field becomes a Text custom field, and comments, attachments and buttons inside inline databases stay behind. Those Text fields are the real work. A status, date or assignee stored as text can't drive a filter, an automation or a dashboard, so the new workspace looks fine until someone builds the first report. I'd import one active database first, convert its fields to proper types, copy out anything that matters from inline comments, and only then run the rest.
