Bottom line up front: How much work is moving from Airtable to Smartsheet?

Moderate to heavy: Smartsheet has no Airtable importer, so each table moves as CSV, and linked records, interfaces and automations are rebuilt as cross-sheet references, reports and workflows.

You get Gantt, dependencies and workload tracking at $9/Member/mo on Pro against $20 on Airtable Team, but Pro caps at 10 Members and there's no free plan. Each import file tops out at 20,000 rows, 400 columns or 500,000 cells. Don't move everything. Migrate the projects that are live, and keep closed ones as a dated CSV archive, because old rows add nothing to a Gantt and every one of them is another dependency or cross-sheet reference to rebuild and check. Put people who only look at the plan in as free Contributors, and plan your paid Member list against that 10-Member line before you pick Pro.

    • Set up single sign-on in Smartsheet on Enterprise before you invite the team, so accounts are created through your identity provider rather than by hand.
    • Smartsheet adds offline access (partial): install the desktop or mobile app for staff who work on the move.
    • If you restrict Airtable to office or VPN IP addresses today, check how you will enforce the same rule in Smartsheet; we found no IP allowlisting documented.

    Expect to rebuild them. CSV carries rows and columns; links between tables, formulas, automations, views and permissions are recreated in the new tool by hand.
