Bottom line up front: What will Airtable really cost once a team starts building on it?

The free plan looks generous, but it caps you at 1,000 records per base, so most working teams land on Team at $20/seat/mo billed annually ($24 monthly).

Read-only collaborators are free, but watch who counts: Team bills Commenter and up, Business bills Editor and up, and Business costs $45/seat/mo annually. Team tops out at 50,000 records per base and Business at 125,000, so a base that logs every order or ticket hits the ceiling long before your headcount grows. The fix is design, not a bigger plan. Keep each base to one job, archive closed records into a separate base on a schedule, and decide up front who really needs to comment, because on Team every commenter is a paid seat and seats rarely get taken back once handed out.
