Choose Sortly, from free or $49 a month for 2 users, if you are tracking what you own: items, supplies and equipment, with offline scanning. Choose inFlow, from $129 a month on annual billing, if you buy and sell products and need sales orders, purchase orders and stock synced with Shopify or Amazon.

Quick verdict: Pick by the job. Sortly tracks what you have and where it is: photos, folders, QR labels and scanning, from free for 100 items to $49 a month for 2 users on Advanced. How they actually differ

Both scan barcodes in mobile apps and keep a live stock count. Sortly stops at knowing what you have; inFlow carries on through buying, selling and shipping it.

Orders and channels

inFlow turns online-store orders into sales orders and pushes stock levels back to Shopify and WooCommerce, with purchase orders and receiving on every plan. Sortly has purchase orders from Ultra but lists no sales orders or selling channels.

Working in the field

Sortly’s mobile apps work offline and sync later, useful in warehouses or job sites with poor signal. inFlow’s web, Windows and mobile apps need a connection; its offline-capable on-premise edition was discontinued in July 2024.

Moving between them

None of the three imports directly from another. Every move is a spreadsheet move: export CSV or Excel from the old tool, map the columns to the new tool’s import template, and import items, stock levels, customers and vendors in order.

  • Audit reports: both publish a SOC 2 report. Ask each vendor for the report under NDA before you sign; security reviews usually want the latest one.
