Clockify vs Harvest: Which Time Tracker Fits Your Team in 2026?

Clockify is a fraction of Harvest’s seat price, with a 5-user free plan and time-clock features. Harvest bundles invoicing and accounting sync into every paid plan, then adds usage charges. Here is the real difference.

Harvest

Bottom line Editorial assessment

Which is better value, Clockify or Harvest?

Choose Clockify for the lowest price per seat ($3.99 to $11.99 a month on annual billing), a free plan for up to 5 users and time-clock features; choose Harvest if invoicing, expenses and accounting sync in the base plan are worth $9 a seat or more, plus usage charges Harvest does not publish.

Quick verdict: Clockify is much cheaper: $3.99 to $11.99 a seat a month on annual billing, against Harvest’s $9 (Teams) and $14 (Enterprise) before its unpublished usage charges. Clockify’s Standard plan ($5.49) already includes invoicing, approvals and time off, and its free plan covers 5 users against Harvest’s 1. Clockify also covers hourly-staff needs such as kiosk clock-in, attendance, GPS and optional screenshots. Harvest is the more polished billing tool for agencies: invoicing and expenses on every plan, Stripe payments, and QuickBooks Online, Xero and Gusto connections on Teams and up. Clockify’s Xero and QuickBooks Payroll links are paid add-ons.

Editorial assessment

How they actually differ

Both track time against clients and projects and turn it into billable reports. Clockify is priced and packaged like a utility that scales to hourly staff; Harvest is priced like a billing tool for professional services.

Price and what it excludes

Clockify’s five tiers run from $3.99 to $11.99 a seat a month on annual billing, 20% below monthly. Harvest bills Teams and Enterprise either as “Flex”, a per-seat rate plus usage-based charges for active projects, clients, tasks and invoicing above a free allowance, or as “Unlimited” with a fixed usage fee. Harvest does not publish the usage rates, the free allowances or the Unlimited price, so its per-seat prices are a floor, not a total.

Invoicing and accounting

Harvest invoices on every plan, including Free (where invoices need Stripe to be emailed or exported), and syncs with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Stripe and Deel on Teams and up, plus Gusto. Clockify invoices from Standard, syncs with QuickBooks there, and sells Xero invoice sync ($4.99 a month) and QuickBooks Payroll ($6.99 a month) as add-ons.

Hourly staff and control

Clockify offers a shared kiosk, attendance and overtime, time off, GPS, and optional screenshots, spread across its tiers. Harvest documents no kiosk. For control, Clockify puts SSO, SCIM and audit logs on Enterprise; Harvest puts SAML SSO and approvals on Enterprise and says it does not offer SCIM.

What this means for your team

  • Audit reports: Clockify states a SOC 2 report on its own site; we found no SOC 2 statement for Harvest. If your security team requires SOC 2, ask Harvest directly before shortlisting.
  • Single sign-on: Clockify includes it on Enterprise; Harvest includes it on Enterprise. If your team signs in through Okta, Microsoft Entra ID or Google, price the plan that includes SSO, not the entry plan.
  • Working offline: Clockify and Harvest let you keep working without a connection. Details are in the Offline mode row above.
  • Where your data lives: Clockify lets you choose US, EU, UK, Australia on Pro. This matters for teams hiring across the EU, UK or Australia.
  • In the office: Clockify: Clockify's kiosk turns a shared device into a clock-in/clock-out station (PIN from Basic, QR code from Standard, photo capture on Pro); kiosk-only 'limited' users are billed at a lower seat rate.

Clockify: worth knowing

  • RemoteOn Pro and Enterprise, admins can optionally turn on GPS location tracking for field staff and screenshots every 5 minutes; users are notified when these are enabled. source

Harvest: worth knowing

  • SecurityWhen enabled, two-factor authentication is an account-wide sign-in requirement for everyone, and it is mandatory for accounts connected to Xero. source
  • RemoteAll Harvest data is stored in the U.S. (Google Cloud, with AWS backups), with no customer-selectable region. source
  • OfficeHarvest's Gusto payroll sync is only for US-based Gusto customers and must be run by an Administrator. source
