Bottom line up front: How do we move from 1Password to Bitwarden without losing passwords mid-switch?

The import is the easy part: Bitwarden reads 1Password's 1PUX, 1PIF or CSV exports straight into an organization collection, so the risk sits in the days around it.

Build your collections and pick the plan first, because vault permissions, Watchtower settings and policies don't transfer, and SSO, policies and account recovery need Enterprise at $6 a user, not Teams at $4. Then treat cutover like a change freeze: any password someone updates in 1Password after the export never reaches Bitwarden, and nobody notices until a login fails weeks later. So announce a cutoff, export and import that day, and from then on changes go into Bitwarden only. Keep the old account for a short overlap to catch stragglers, not to run two live vaults. And delete the export file once you've checked it, since every password in it is plain text.

    Map 1Password vaults to Bitwarden collections before you import, so shared items land in the right place.

    3Import each vaultIn the Bitwarden web app or CLI, import the .1pux file into the matching collection.
