Bottom line up front: How hard is it to get your projects out of Motion and into Asana?

Harder on the way out than the way in: Asana imports CSV cleanly, but we found no export feature in Motion's help center, only its public API or copying by hand.

Motion also says purchases are non-refundable, so start pulling data well before your plan renews, not the week it lapses. The payoff is real: Asana Starter is $10.99 a seat a month on annual billing against Motion's $19 for Pro AI, with exact per-seat billing instead of rounding up to a multiple of 5. I wouldn't move everything. Pull only open tasks and active projects, one CSV per project with name, assignee, due date and description columns, and keep finished work in a single archive file, because a lean import maps faster and gives the team a clean start. Expect a planning gap too: Motion was deciding when work happened, so in Asana someone has to own real due dates from day one.
