Switching from Figma to Adobe Express

Adobe Express has no Figma importer, and Adobe warns that Figma frames exported as PDF may not render correctly. Plan to rebuild key templates.

Heads up: AI features, allowances and prices on design tools change often; figures here are as published on September 19, 2026.

Quick verdict: Export Figma frames as PNG or SVG (or PDF, checking the result closely), rebuild marketing templates in Express with your brand kit, and keep Figma for any product or web design.

Most buyers only budget for the new subscription. This estimates the hidden labor, data-cleanup, and retraining cost of actually making the switch.

Estimate assumes: 1 hour of data-mapping/cleaning labor per 2,000 records, a blended $75/hr ops rate, tiered migration & cleaning tooling fees, and 4 hours of retraining per seat at a $45/hr fully-loaded rate.

    How the migration actually works

Adobe says Figma PDFs are not fully supported in Express; test a few before committing.

    StepWhat you do
1Pick what to keepList the templates and designs you still reuse; most teams move their top templates and archive the rest as PDFs.
2Export from FigmaSave a local copy of each file (.fig, .jam, .deck) and export frames as PNG, SVG or PDF. Version history and comments are not included.
3Set up Adobe Express TeamsBuy at least 2 Teams licenses in the Adobe Admin Console and assign them.
4Rebuild your brand kitRecreate logos, colours and fonts, and upload licensed fonts again; brand kits and locked templates do not move between tools.
5Import into Adobe ExpressUpload PNG or SVG exports, or import PDFs and check them carefully; rebuild anything that renders incorrectly.
6Archive and cancelKeep a PDF archive of everything you did not rebuild, then cancel the old plan at renewal.

What this path doesn’t do for you:

Components, prototypes, Dev Mode and version history have no Express equivalent.

    Before you cut over

    • Set up single sign-on in Adobe Express on Enterprise before you invite the team, so accounts are created through your identity provider rather than by hand.
    • People who rely on Figma offline will lose that: Adobe Express doesn’t document an offline mode. Tell field and travelling staff before the switch.
    • If you restrict Figma to office or VPN IP addresses today, check how you will enforce the same rule in Adobe Express; we found no IP allowlisting documented.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can Adobe Express import Figma files?

Not natively; Adobe warns Figma frames exported as PDF may render incorrectly.

    Will I save money?

Per person, yes: $7.99 on Express Teams against $16 for a Figma Full seat on annual billing.

    What won’t move?

Components, prototypes, variables and version history.

Will my templates and fonts move over?

Brand kits, locked templates and uploaded fonts do not transfer between tools. Plan to rebuild the brand kit and re-upload licensed fonts; stock assets licensed inside one tool stay in that tool.
