Bottom line up front: Is LastPass still a safe choice for a business password manager?

It can be, but read LastPass's own 2022 incident notices first: attackers accessed cloud backups that included customer vault data, and while sensitive fields were encrypted, URLs weren't.

The pricing is competitive, with Teams at $4.25/user/mo billed annually for up to 50 users, Business at $7/user/mo and Business Max at $11, and SSO and SCIM start on Business. Here's what that incident means in practice: a copied encrypted vault can be attacked offline for as long as the attacker likes, so its safety rests on the master password it was locked with. The unencrypted URLs also tell an attacker which sites and admin panels to aim at. If your team used LastPass back then and you stay, have everyone set a long new master password and change the credentials that matter, starting with email, banking and admin logins. If you leave, do the same, because moving the vault doesn't undo the copy.
