Bottom line up front: Is moving from Shopify POS to Clover worth the work?

Only if you need what Shopify POS lacks, mainly table mapping, tabs and bill splitting, since this is a manual move into a 36-month hardware commitment.

Clover documents no Shopify importer, so products leave as a CSV and get reshaped by hand, variants included, into Clover's item spreadsheet template. Many shops keep Shopify for online sales, and that's where this move goes wrong: inventory won't sync between the two by itself. Two systems counting the same stock is how you sell something online that already walked out the door. Pick one system as the inventory record, hold back a small buffer on each online listing, and reconcile both counts on a fixed schedule until you trust them. Test-import a handful of products with variants before doing the whole catalogue, and time the exit to your renewal, because annual POS Pro can't be downgraded until the cycle ends.
