Squarespace has no Framer importer and Framer does not export HTML. Export CMS content to CSV with a plugin, then rebuild pages in a Squarespace template.
Don't move if your site's appeal is its motion and custom layout, because Framer interactions, animations and CMS page templates don't transfer and Squarespace can't import another site's design.
The move pays when many people edit or you sell online: Squarespace Core includes unlimited contributors where Framer charges $20 a month per extra editor, and its store fee is 0% from Core. If that's you, export your CMS collections to CSV or JSON with a Framer plugin first, since Squarespace has no importer for them and you'll paste content in by hand. Then freeze content on the old site. A hand rebuild takes weeks, and any edit someone makes to the live Framer site in the meantime is one you'll have to spot and copy again. Keep Framer's Site plan until redirects are in place and every rebuilt page has been checked.

Most buyers only budget for the new subscription. This estimates the hidden labor, data-cleanup, and retraining cost of actually making the switch.
Estimate assumes: 1 hour of data-mapping/cleaning labor per 2,000 records, a blended $75/hr ops rate, tiered migration & cleaning tooling fees, and 4 hours of retraining per seat at a $45/hr fully-loaded rate.
Squarespace Core and above include unlimited contributors; Framer charges $20 a month per additional editor.
0% online store transaction fee from Core.
Templates, hosting, commerce and scheduling in one plan.
Neither side has a direct importer for the other, so page layouts are rebuilt by hand.
| Step | What you do |
|---|---|
| 1Export CMS content | Use a Framer plugin to export CMS collections to CSV or JSON. |
| 2Save assets | Download images and files you will reuse. |
| 3Start a Squarespace trial | Every Squarespace site starts with a 14-day free trial, no card; choose Basic, Core or higher when you publish. |
| 4Rebuild pages | Squarespace cannot import another site’s layout, design or fonts, so recreate each page with its sections and blocks. |
| 5Bring in content | Paste blog and CMS content into Squarespace; products can be imported from a CSV. |
| 6Move the domain and redirect | Point your domain at Squarespace and create URL redirects from old paths. |
| 7Cancel Framer | Downgrade or cancel the Site plan once the new site is live. |
What this path doesn’t do for you:
Framer interactions, animations and CMS page templates do not transfer. Squarespace’s importers cover WordPress, Blogger and Tumblr posts and store products, not Framer CMS collections, so plan to paste content in.
