Switching from Lovable to Wix

Wix cannot import a Lovable project or any site built outside Wix. You keep your Lovable code as a backup and rebuild the pages in the Wix editor.

Bottom line up front: What happens to a Lovable app when you move it to Wix?

Only the pages survive, and only as a manual rebuild: Wix can't import outside sites, so logins, databases and custom forms need a Wix feature or get dropped.

What you gain is a flat bill, Wix Light at $17 a month on an annual plan against Lovable Pro at $25 for 100 credits. The step people skip is the data. If your app has user accounts or saved form entries, get those records out and tell those users what's changing, because a rebuilt site starts with an empty database and people who suddenly can't log in assume you shut down. Download the code as a zip or sync it to GitHub too, since your Lovable plan stays active only to the end of the billing period. And treat Wix as a one-way door: once you're there, the site has to run on Wix's servers.

Why teams move from Lovable to Wix

    Flat price

Wix Light is $17 a month on an annual plan, with no credits to watch.

    No code to manage

Drag-and-drop editing and hosting in one place.

    Free plan

Start on Wix Free with Wix branding, upgrade for a custom domain.

    How the migration actually works

Wix’s help center says importing a site created outside Wix is not supported, so plan time for a manual rebuild.

    StepWhat you do
1Keep a copy of your Lovable projectDownload the codebase as a zip from the code editor or Project settings, or sync it to GitHub.
2List pages and featuresWrite down every page, form, login and data feature; each needs a Wix equivalent or is dropped.
3Pick a Wix plan and templateStart on Wix Free, then choose Light, Core or Business when you need a custom domain, payments or e-commerce.
4Rebuild pagesRecreate each page in the Wix editor and copy text and images across by hand.
5Move your domainConnect your domain to Wix once the new site is ready; domains already connected in Lovable keep working until you change DNS.
6Redirect old URLsMap old page URLs to the new ones so links and search rankings survive.
7Downgrade LovableYour Lovable plan stays active to the end of the billing period, then the workspace moves to Free.

What this path doesn’t do for you:

No importer exists in this direction. App logic, databases and anything custom in the Lovable code does not come across, and once on Wix the site must run on Wix’s servers, so you cannot export it again later.

    Before you cut over

    • Set up single sign-on in Wix on Enterprise (OpenID Connect only, not SAML) before you invite the team, so accounts are created through your identity provider rather than by hand.

Hover or tap “source” to see the exact wording we relied on. “Not published” means we could not find the vendor saying it on its own site; it doesn’t mean the feature is missing. Frequently Asked Questions

Can Wix import my Lovable site?

No. Wix’s help center says importing a site created outside of Wix is not supported.

    Will Wix cost less?

Usually for a simple site: Light is $17 a month (annual) against Lovable Pro at $25 a month for 100 credits (monthly billing).

What happens to my Lovable project?

Keep it: the code is yours to download or sync to GitHub, and after you cancel the workspace moves to the Free plan at the end of the billing period.
