Bottom line up front: How does beehiiv's bill change as a newsletter grows?

It's free up to 2,500 subscribers with unlimited sends, then the bill follows your active subscriber count: at 10,000 subscribers Scale is $96 and Max $193 a month, paid annually.

Scale starts from $43/mo billed annually ($517/yr), and Max is the plan for running up to 10 publications with unlimited seats. Since you pay per subscriber, how you grow matters as much as how fast. Giveaways, co-registrations and paid signup ads can add thousands of people who wanted the prize, not the newsletter, and they raise your bill while dragging down your open rates. When you pay or reward people for signing up, confirm each address with a double opt-in so only people who actually want the email count. And unlimited sends isn't a reason to send more, because frequency jumps are one of the quickest ways to earn unsubscribes and spam complaints.

Where this data comes from

HelpCompare records pricing and feature data from vendor pricing pages and documentation at the time each comparison is researched, then re-checks it on a published schedule. This entity page is generated from those records — it does not introduce any figure that has not already been verified on a comparison page.

  • Vendor pricing and documentation — www.beehiiv.com, checked September 27, 2026.
  • HelpCompare research — 1 comparison page listed above, each with its own verification date.
  • G2 — aggregate rating and review count (none recorded for this tool). Review counts change daily; treat them as a snapshot.
  • Machine-readable copy — /data/tools.json, /data/tools.csv, and the open data hub.
Prices change often and vendors do not always announce it. Every figure here carries the date it was last checked — confirm current pricing with the vendor before you buy. If you find something out of date, the comparison page it came from is linked in the table above.
